It’s 5:30 in the morning, I’ve woken up for some reason, can’t get back to sleep and think this is a great opportunity to write a new blog post.
I suppose there’s a lot on my mind. It’s my 21st birthday next month. I know it may seem silly because I’m young but I doubt I’m the only person in my 20s that feel that they are supposed to have their whole life together.
I think a lot of us believe that working towards an end result is supposed to be a straight forward journey. When things aren’t going to plan and you find yourself going in a different direction as well as stumbling on hurdles we often become discouraged.
The power and influence of social media suggests that to be successful is to have money. If you have no money and your not successful, you aren’t poppin’ (you aren’t great).
Your supposed to have your life together whilst at the same time your 20s are supposed to be one of the best times in your life.
A time for drunken mistakes, heartbreaks, silly part time jobs and 2am study groups. Everyday is a growing experience and you literally learn on the go.
Don’t get me wrong. This is not an excuse for laziness. Everyone should be on a journey working towards something but the truth is; life is not straight forward. No one knows indefinitely what’s going to happen tomorrow or the day after. So have a little fun whilst working your butt off.
It’s a fact that during the times when we lose a little sense of direction, that the issues that we are facing can strengthen, motivate and prepare us for what’s coming.
So don’t be deterred. Your running your own race, on your own track and at your own pace.
Lots of love,
