So this was a guest post that I had written for another blog a while ago, but I am eager to share this light hearted post to my followers that explore the ins and outs of the booming hair industry and how us women happen to get sucked in *rolls eyes*.
Its 2018 and I am all for the saying out with the old and in with the new. 2017 was definitely an interesting year of ladies from all types of walks of life not only embracing and loving the uniqueness of their hair but owning and slaying hairstyles that stand out from the rest. Whether we are bringing old styles back completely or revamping; you know vibrant colours and daring cuts, we really came through.
From beaming yellows to pastel pinks, edgy pixies to blunt cut bobs. It only takes the brave and the daring to step outside the box and take one for the team, so the rest of us can latch on.
Oh!! and let’s not forget the new level of expertise that has come with the weaves & wigs. The quick and snazzy instagram tutorials and the detailed YouTube videos haves us all (don’t lie) addicted to trying to perfect that ultimate slay. Because honestly if it ain’t “frontal whereeeeeee?” then sis your doing something wrong and shids embarrassing.
And just in case you weren’t aware, no ladies we do not wear leave out anymore, that needs to be left in 2015. I mean get with it (or get left behind) because the level of construction that goes into these lace frontals, pshhhhhh!! Crazy. Not only are people now capable of achieving the most realistic looking hairlines imaginable but the versatility that comes with these frontals is different than anything seen before.
Obviouslyyyyyyy the importance of this is quality and with quality comes price. The hair industry is BOOMING!! and us ladies are willing to make that sacrifice in the name of fleek, because as they say “it pays to look good”.
But not only do we have caucasian wigs, something fairly new has been brought to the market. The ready made box braid and cainrow wigs. The perfect go to hairstyle; cute, versatile, easy and honourably, quick.
We have also had trends that have been seen sported by the a list celebrities, such as dip dyed braids and popular hits like faux locks (that are even available ready made) and different styles of crochet.
But under these wigs, don’t get it twisted (excuse the pun) a lot women are in the process of a natural or hair growth journey and benefit from these protective hairstyles.
You name it; somewhere, one of us boss ass females all races, ages and ethnicities are doing it.
So after wearing the short cuts for a couple of years now, 2018 I decided for some change. Here is a Youtube tutorial of me getting my first frontal laid for the Gods.
